Eveline

In the short story Eveline, written by pack Joyce shows that there is no easy way to get step up of a bad situation. The story deals with a young missy who go in love but feels obligated to perch by her fathers side. The excerpt at the end where Eveline decides non to go with her lover, unmannered explains how many of us give up the person we claim for most to do what needs to be done.         He zip up beyond the barrier and called to her to follow. He was shouted at to go on but he still called to her. She set her whiten face to him, passive, like a helpless animal. Her eyes gave him no sign of love or farewell or recognition. At the very end of the story Eveline is standing on the shilling as her lover and the ship does on without her because she feels that she has to stay and shutdown care of her father. The reality in this story is that Eveline is really bristle between two people and places. One place is her home, which is non the best of circumstances because she works at a entrepot that she does not like and she lives to contribute care of her father. Her father is an ancient man who cannot drive care of himself to much any more, he is mean to her in the sense that she has to pay the bills and when she asks him for his money he always makes comments at her that make her feel like she should not belong.
